You have probably read of breaches of security 'hacks' and personal information being released, Apple, Meta, and Twitter have all disclosed cybersecurity attacks over the past 12 months.  and sadly, this trend isn’t slowing down. 
The last year or so has been littered with thefts of sensitive information.

Change your password(s) regularly and help protect yourself by creating strong passwords using a mix of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols to make your passwords unique and resistant to hacking methods.

Enable two-factor authentication: Add an extra layer of security to your login process by verifying your identity through a unique means, most banks already do this.

Beware of phishing scams: Be cautious about clicking links in emails or downloading attachments from unknown sources.

How to Join a Zoom Meeting for the first time

You received an email with a link to join a Zoom meeting and this is your first time, what to do?

When you click on the Zoom link you will be taken to the Zoom welcome page, if this is your first time you will be prompted to download the Zoom app, this is easy to do, just follow the on-screen prompts, you will only need to do this once.

When you join a meeting you will be asked if you want to join with video and audio click yes to both questions and don't forget to unmute your microphone if you usually have it muted.

The Zoom app is not the full Zoom programme, it is a small programme that allows you to attend Zoom meetings.

Dreaded Black Screen

If you are faced with a Black or Blank screen on your laptop on startup that goes on for several minutes, it may be that your computer is updating or completing an update, if it goes on for longer than you feel is reasonable you can safely switch of the laptop by holding the power button down for 6 or 7 seconds, you may feel it click off, wait about 30 seconds then switch on again.
