BUS PASS GROUP - The Bus pass group has restarted, Christine is keeping the numbers low, 6 to 8 people, to ensure that everyone is able to get on the bus.

This group is currently full - but why not start your own Bus Pass group?

Got the pass! Will travel

This new’ish’ group chose Southwell as its destination in August and five of us met up at Mansfield Bus Station for the trip.

Everything was well planned and organised by our leader Christine, we had a super day, with good weather, an excellent lunch at a cafe in the high street and a visit to the Minster; the latter full of interest and history (and spirituality).

Our autumn expedition was to Edwinstowe; the No. 14 from Forest Town (about 20 mins). The weather was kind, despite a slightly negative forecast, and the five of us had a most enjoyable day, strolling along the High Street and refreshing ourselves with tea or coffee at one of the cafes.

From there we took a leisurely walk up to the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, stopping at St Mary's Church on the way (noting with amazement in the Visitors Book the number of tourists from all over the world - that’s the lure of Robin Hood!). A jolly good lunch at the cafe in the Visitor Centre set us up for the afternoon, and the interesting shops kept us busy as we headed for the bus stop, the timely arrival of the No. 15 and a short ride back to Forest Town. And we missed the rain! Plans are afoot for future outings.
