U3A GARDENING GROUP.

The Gardening Group meet at the Sherwood Centre, Stuart Avenue, Forest Town on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from 10 am to 12 noon.

We arrange gardening visits during the Summer and in the Autumn/Winter months turn our hand to creative activities.

This month, (April) we were on a quest to find suitable stones for painting! Flat ones were better for drawing on, other shapes lent themselves to producing animals/birds/insects.
After washing and drying our selected stones, a coat of white paint gave a good base to work with.
The next step was choosing a design to draw on the stone. These varied from mandalas to tigers and houses.

Our visit to Downtown Garden Centre

For our February meeting about a dozen of us sat round the table and began by trying to figure out the macramé puzzle in front of us. It wasn't long before most of us got the hang of it, under Angelina's and Christine's instructions
