Short walks
We would like to put a programme together starting February.
The walks will be led by different members.
The day, time and place will be set by the walk leader to suit their availability.
Please let me know if you have a walk you can share so that it can be timetabled.

We are looking for 10 u3a members to take in turn to lead one walk a month that they are familiar with.

Marilyn Redfern

These would be between 3 – 4 miles in length, with a lunch venue at the end, there is no set day for these walks, the day and time of the walk can be of your own choosing.

You can contact Marilyn by this link: Groups Co-ordinator

SHORT WALKS

A beautiful morning for our short walk around Hexgreave today, 11 members joined in and after a short talk about the history of Hexgreave, we walked out to look at the deer in the adjoining fields and then just under a couple of miles around parts of the estate, before heading back for a nice hot drink and a bite to eat. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours

We were a bit thin on the ground but it didn’t stop us of from setting off from Thoresby Park Car park on a very nice Friday morning, we headed down by the beautiful Thorseby Hall the past home of the Pierrepont family down to Perlthorpe church where in the Church yard we saw the grave of the late Lady Manvers who lived in the hall till her passing in 1984.
Carrying on over the styles through the fields and into the forest. A water break was welcomed with a fabulous view over the fields with the church in the far distance.
Back onto the track and to the Court Yard where we had a well earned cup of coffee.
We had a lovely walk with plenty of chat and laughter.

Sue Robinson led the first walk, a leisurely walk around Vicar Water.
